Teams, workspaces and several stores
· 2 min read · MAALI team
Everything in MAALI belongs to a workspace: your Store Brain, SEO checks, article ideas, articles, credits and plan. Most people need just one. This guide covers when to add people and when to add workspaces.
One workspace per store
A workspace is built around one store's Store Brain. If you run more than one store, or you're an agency handling several clients, create a workspace for each. That keeps each store's brand voice, competitors and articles separate, so nothing leaks from one brand into another.
To add one, open Settings, find Your workspaces and click New workspace. You can own up to 5. Switch between them from the workspace menu at the top of the app.
Each workspace has its own plan and credits. Free credits are per person: you get them once, with your first workspace.
Owners and members
Each workspace has two roles:
| Member | Owner | |
|---|---|---|
| Build and edit the Store Brain | ✓ | ✓ |
| Run SEO checks, article ideas and articles | ✓ | ✓ |
| Edit and export articles | ✓ | ✓ |
| See credits and usage | ✓ | ✓ |
| Choose a plan, manage billing and invoices | ✓ | |
| Invite and remove people, change permissions | ✓ | |
| Rename the workspace | ✓ |
A workspace always has at least one owner.
Inviting your team
Team members are included in your plan: Solo has 1, Growth 3 and Agency 10.
- Open Settings and find Team.
- Enter your teammate's email and choose Member or Owner.
- They get an email with a link that works for 7 days. They sign in, or create an account with the same email, to accept.
You can cancel an invitation that hasn't been accepted yet, change someone's role, or remove them from Settings at any time.
Leaving a workspace
Members can leave a workspace from Settings. You'll lose access to its Store Brain and articles; nothing else changes for the rest of the team. The last owner can't leave without making someone else an owner first.
Who should be an owner?
Keep owners to the people who handle money and access, usually the store owner. Writers, marketers and assistants can do all the marketing work as members.
