Deliverability basics

· 1 min read

The best email doesn't help if it lands in spam. These habits protect your sending reputation.

Use a separate outreach domain

Send outreach from a second domain (for example getyourbrand.com instead of yourbrand.com), so your main domain's reputation stays safe. Point the second domain's website to your main site.

Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Your email provider's help pages explain how to add these DNS records. They prove your emails really come from you. Google and Yahoo now require them for reliable delivery.

Warm up slowly

New mailboxes should start low: around 10–20 emails a day in the first two weeks, then increase gradually. Set this as the mailbox's daily limit in MAALI. A short period of normal, real conversations from the mailbox helps too.

Keep it relevant

Relevance is the strongest deliverability signal. Emails that get replies and don't get marked as spam build your reputation; blasts to poor-fit stores destroy it. MAALI's fit score and filters exist for exactly this reason. Keep your minimum fit score meaningful.

Write like a person

  • Plain text, short, no heavy formatting, at most one link.
  • No spammy words or ALL CAPS, no fake "Re:" subjects.
  • One follow-up, not five.

Respect opt-outs

Every MAALI email includes your signature with a postal address, an unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers. "No" replies, unsubscribes and bounces are added to your do-not-contact list automatically, across all your campaigns.

Watch your numbers

If bounces rise above a few percent or replies drop to zero, pause and check your list quality and offer before sending more.
