Publishing an article on Shopify

October 20, 2026 · 2 min read · MAALI team

Every MAALI article is ready to paste into your Shopify blog. This takes about a minute per article.

Before you start

Open the article on the Articles tab and read it through. Make any edits there first (click Edit), so the version you paste is final.

If your store doesn't have a blog yet, Shopify creates one called "News" by default. You can rename it, or add a new blog, under Online Store → Blog posts → Manage blogs.

1. Create the post

In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Blog posts and click Add blog post.

2. Paste the title

On the MAALI article, click Copy title and paste it into the Title field in Shopify.

3. Paste the article as HTML

  1. On the MAALI article, click Copy article (HTML). The HTML starts after the main heading, because Shopify shows your title as the heading.
  2. In Shopify's Content box, click Show HTML (the <> button in the toolbar).
  3. Paste, then click <> again to see the formatted article.

Pasting HTML keeps the headings, lists and links exactly as MAALI wrote them. Pasting formatted text from another window sometimes loses them.

4. Set the search engine listing

Scroll to Search engine listing and click Edit:

  • Page title: paste the SEO title if it's different from the article title.
  • Meta description: click Copy meta description in MAALI and paste it.
  • URL handle: set it to the handle MAALI suggests. Short, lowercase words with hyphens work best.

5. Add a featured image

Add an image in Featured image. A photo of the product the article recommends works well, and it's what people see when the article is shared. Add alt text that describes the photo.

6. Choose the blog, author and visibility

On the right: pick the Blog, set the Author, and add Tags if your theme uses them. Under Visibility, choose Visible to publish now, or set a date to publish later.

Click Save.

After publishing

  • Open the article on your store and click a couple of the links to make sure they go where you expect.
  • Link to it from a related product or collection description where it genuinely helps the shopper.
  • Request indexing in Google Search Console (URL inspection) if you want search engines to find it sooner.

Prefer Markdown?

Click Download .md to get the article as a Markdown file, for example to publish on another platform or keep a copy. One-click publishing to Shopify and WordPress is coming next.
