One-click publishing to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow and GitHub

Once your blog is connected, every MAALI article has a Publish panel: send it as a draft to finish in your own editor, or publish it live straight away. You connect each platform once, under Connections. Only workspace owners can add or change connections.
MAALI checks every key before saving it, stores it encrypted, and uses it only to create the posts you send. Disconnect deletes it.
Sending an article
Open the article and click Send to … as draft or Publish live. MAALI first shows you exactly what will happen: the article, where it goes (the site, collection or repository) and whether it will be visible. Nothing is sent until you confirm.
While it sends, a progress bar shows each step. Then you see the result: a link to open the post on your platform, or, if the platform said no, its reason and a Try again button. Nothing is published when sending fails.
If you already sent an article, MAALI warns you before you send it again, because a second send creates a second copy.
WordPress
WordPress has a built-in way to give apps their own password, separate from yours.
- In WordPress, open Users → Profile (your own profile).
- Scroll to Application Passwords, type
MAALIas the name and click Add New Application Password. - Copy the password it shows. You won't see it again.
- In MAALI, open Connections → WordPress → Connect and enter your site's address, your WordPress username and the application password.
Your user needs to be able to create posts (Author, Editor or Administrator). MAALI sends the article's title, content, slug and meta description (as the excerpt). SEO plugins such as Yoast have their own description field; you can copy the meta description in there before you publish the draft.
Not seeing Application Passwords? Some security plugins and hosts turn them off. Check your security plugin's settings, or ask your host.
Ghost
- In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Integrations and click Add custom integration.
- Name it
MAALIand copy the Admin API key (it has two parts separated by a colon). - In MAALI, open Connections → Ghost → Connect, enter your site's address and paste the key.
MAALI sends the title, content, slug and meta description. Drafts appear under Posts → Drafts in Ghost.
Webflow
Webflow publishes blog posts as items in a CMS collection.
- In Webflow, open Site settings → Apps & integrations → API access and generate a token with CMS: read and write.
- Open your blog collection's settings and copy its Collection ID.
- Note the slug of the collection's Rich Text field for the article body (often
post-body), and optionally a plain text field for the summary. - In MAALI, open Connections → Webflow → Connect and fill in the token, collection ID and field names.
MAALI checks that the fields exist before saving. "Publish live" creates a published item; a draft stays unpublished in the collection until you publish it in Webflow.
GitHub (Next.js, Astro, Hugo, Jekyll and other code-based sites)
If your site is built from Markdown files in a GitHub repository, MAALI can commit each article as a file.
- On GitHub, create a fine-grained personal access token for your website's repository only, with Contents: read and write.
- In MAALI, open Connections → GitHub → Connect and enter the repository (
owner/name), the branch and the folder your posts live in, for examplecontent/blog.
Each article becomes folder/slug.md with front matter (title, description, date, slug, and draft: true for drafts). If your site expects different front matter, adjust your site's template or edit the file after it lands. Your site's normal build and deploy then publish it.
SEO fixes through the same connection
WordPress, Ghost and Webflow connections can also apply the title and meta description fixes MAALI writes on the SEO page, once an owner turns on SEO fixes for the connection. WordPress needs the small MAALI Connector plugin for that, and Webflow a token that can change page settings. See SEO fixes, written for you and applied in one click.
Shopify, Wix, Squarespace and others
These platforms don't offer a simple key for publishing blog posts, so articles are copied in. On any article, use Copy article (HTML), Copy title and Copy meta description; it takes about a minute. For Shopify specifically, see Publishing an article on Shopify.
If publishing fails
The error message says what the platform answered. The most common causes:
- "rejected the key": the key was revoked or doesn't have write access. Create a new one and click Update key.
- "not found": the site address, collection ID or repository is wrong.
- A security plugin or firewall blocking API requests. Allow requests to your site's REST API.
